Valia Theodoraki joined the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange as the Head of Listings in September 1999. In May 2000, Valia was promoted to Chief Executive Officer.

Originally from Greece, Valia joined the London Stock Exchange in 1988 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a Masters of Science degree in International Banking and Financial Studies from Herriott-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Ms Theodoraki worked at the London Stock Exchange for ten years, reaching the position of Senior Regulatory Adviser and Trainer in the Capital Markets Group. She left the London Stock Exchange in 1998 to join the Legal Department New Issues Transaction Management team of Tokyo-Mitsubishi International plc as an Assistant Manager, focusing primarily on capital markets issues.
